COLUMBUS—State Senator Gayle Manning (R-North Ridgeville) this week announced Controlling Board approval in the amount of $310,000.00 for ongoing Information Technology (IT) upgrades at Lorain County Community College.
“LCCC has a proven record of providing quality education, playing a key role in Ohio’s workforce development,” said Manning. “With this additional funding, the college will have the resources it needs to continue investing in students for years to come.”
The purpose of the IT upgrades project is to replace the current campus network infrastructure to be able to support today’s technology as well as become agile with future technologies.
The funds will be used to purchase Software Defines Network (SDN) capabilities. This wireless network will be able to support a growing mobile device population, as well as handle multiple devices that access the campus network. The new network will also enable the college to enhance internet security protocols.
